Story behind the piece
Ganesha — Divine Beginnings
June 30, 2026
There are moments in life when everything you've spent years building quietly falls apart.
The career you poured your heart into.
The relationships you believed would last.
The identity you introduced yourself by.
I painted this Ganesha during one of those seasons.
After losing my job, experiencing the loss of relationships that once felt like home, facing uncertainty about my future, and questioning almost everything I thought defined me, I found myself standing at a crossroads. I didn't have a map. I didn't know what came next. All I had was a paintbrush and a quiet voice inside me whispering, "Begin anyway."
As I painted, Ganesha stopped feeling like a deity outside of me and became a reminder of something awakening within me.
His gentle, childlike expression taught me that beginning again doesn't require having all the answers. It asks only for faith the kind of faith that allows you to take one step even when you can't yet see the entire path. For so long, I believed obstacles were signs that I was moving in the wrong direction. But life has taught me something different.
Sometimes obstacles are sacred invitations.
They strip away everything that isn't truly you. They make room for a life you never would have chosen, but one your soul has quietly been preparing you for all along. This painting marks the beginning of my own rebirth, not as the woman defined by her career, titles, or the expectations of others, but as an artist, a creator, and someone choosing to live with authenticity and purpose.
Whenever I look at Ganesha now, I don't ask him to remove the obstacles from my path.
I ask for the wisdom to walk through them because every ending carries the seed of a new beginning and sometimes, the greatest blessing isn't an easy journey.
It's finding the courage to begin again.
